Europa League action returns to Glasgow on Thursday evening as Rangers take on Lyon at Ibrox Stadium.

Rangers vs Lyon Betting Tips: BTTS / Rangers over 1.5 

Rangers and Lyon, both looking to extend their perfect starts in the Europa League, face off at Ibrox Stadium in what promises to be an entertaining contest.

The Glasgow giants come into the match in strong form, having picked up an impressive 2:0 win against Malm? in their group opener. The Gers extended their recent winning run to four with a hard-fought win against Hibernian in the Premiership on Sunday.

Lyon, fresh off a 2:0 victory over Olympiakos, have a strong recent away record in the Europa League. Les Gones won six of their last seven away EL ties, albeit over the past six years since 2018.

The Ligue 1 side′s recent domestic form highlights their attacking prowess, but also their vulnerability at the back. The visitors have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored in three of their last five games, including a thrilling 4:3 win over Strasbourg, a narrow 3:2 defeat to Marseille, and a 2:1 victory in their most recent Ligue 1 contest at Toulouse. 

Rangers can usually be relied on in the goal markets in Europe. Four of their last six EL ties have seen BTTS while Pierre Sage′s side have seen BTTS in three of their last four away outings in the competition.

In what looks an evenly-balanced contest, I′m confident both teams will get on the scoresheet at a typically raucous Ibrox. Indeed, with the Gers finding a little bit of form, and now back at their home stadium after recent refurbishments, I expect the hosts to put in a strong performance against their French visitors.

I′m backing BTTS with the expectation that Rangers could score two goals or more against a somewhat vulnerable Lyon defence.
