After winning the double title in 2022/23, FC Copenhagen had a poor last season by their standards, as they finished 3rd - four points away from the top spot. Even though they were the biggest favorite for the title this year, the popular Lions haven't been great. After losing the last match against Midtjylland, FC Copenhagen are already six points away from the top spot. The primary reason for a somewhat poor season is Copenhagen's poor performance on the road. At home, they are doing great in both the Superliga and the Conference League (Qualifiers). But in order to compete for the title, the Lions will have to fix their road problems.

Aalborg suffered an unexpected relegation in the 2022/23 season but managed to return instantly to Denmark's top-flight division last season. However, the impression is that they did not improve the team over the Summer and could even struggle to survive this year. Right now, they are 9th (out of 12 teams) with nine points in eight rounds. But after winning three in a row (two of them in the Cup), there are some reasons to be optimistic about. Now, they will have a challenging task against FC Copenhagen, which is under pressure to win all three points.

FC Copenhagen vs Aalborg pick: Over 2.5 goals

FC Copenhagen are one of the strongest teams in the league, especially at home, where they are undefeated in seven games in all competitions. They scored 16 goals in those seven matches - 2.29 per game. So, scoring at least two or three goals against Aalborg, which had problems against strong opponents, shouldn't be a problem. For example, Aalborg allowed three goals against Nordsjaelland, two against Midtjylland, and four against Aarhus and Brondby.

Aalborg won three in a row and scored 13 goals during that period. Yes, that was against much weaker opponents, but it is still a good record. Considering FC Copenhagen weren't too impressive defensively they might have a chance for a goal or two.

Additionally, Aalborg have been absolutely great for this type of bet, with 75% of their games in the Superliga finishing with three or more goals. If we count the Cup games as well, they were over 2.5 goals in 80% of the games.

Considering all the above, we believe that an over 2.5 goals bet should be the safest option for this Superliga tie.
